Impeller Repair
Depending upon on the failure pattern and geometry of the rotor MAN Turbo India has developed various techniques for refurbishment and executed refurbishment of impellers successfully. Replacement of vanes and restoration of Hub/cover disc is few of the critical repair activity executed by MAN Turbo.
Repair of Guide Blade Carrier and Diaphragm
MAN Turbo India have executed number of jobs for modification, repair and refurbishment of the diaphragms of Steam Turbine & Compressor and also the Guide Blade carriers of Steam Turbine. Such critical repairs involves reengineering of the stator parts.
Seal Replacement / Reconditioning
MT-I does visual examination and
dimension check of sealing fins,
Removal of damaged fins,
NDT Testing of sealing fins groove,
Installation of sealing fins and caulking wire and
Machining of sealing fins as per dimensions/derived from the mating part.
Repair and Recondition of Casings
The wetted parts of the casing gets corroded over a period of time results in leakage of the gases through the parting plane or between the stages. MAN Turbo India has adopted various techniques for restoration of split line surfaces by way of build up or by way of sealing modification. Post repair blue matching ensures the quality of the workmanship.
Bearing Repair
Repair and refurbishment of bearings is one of the support activity being executed by MAN Turbo India as per the customer’s needs. MAN Turbo India have executed various jobs for reconditioning of the old bearings of lobe type, tilting pads type and also the thrust bearings.
Cleaning
Cleaning of used turbo machine components is essential to ensures correct NDT results. All the received components at MAN Turbo India works are cleaned first by solvents and subsequently by Grit blasting as per the API standards.

Our service laboratory is well equipped with the latest instruments and provides valuable support for the analysis and selection of suitable procedures for various repair jobs. The Non Destructive Testing is carried out as per national and international standards viz. API / ASTM / ASME.
Our Specialty – Laser Beam Cladding
MAN Turbo India has introduced for the first time in India an advanced repair technology for build up on critical area of the turbo machines by Laser Beam Cladding. Laser Beam ensures metallurgical bond with minimum heat input to the base metal.
